Basic overview of an Affiliate ProgramNo Comments »

This topic was probably not needed because as I see most of you already know what an affiliate program is and you are here to learn how to make more cash with those affiliates programs but I thought it would be nice to put some insight for the newbies who are just considering into joining affiliate marketing gang.
I will be focusing on being as an affiliate to any business entity rather than starting your own affiliate business where others would join and become your affiliate.
Consider this; you refer a client to any business and they pay you commission for each sale. That’s called affiliate program. You join companies and start promoting their products and based on your sales they pay you commission. Commission structure depends on what that specific company sets.
How they track sales and pay you ?
Well, they track with cookies. Read more about cookies here, quote from that text
A message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
Most of the times for joining an affiliate program, you even do not need a website, just join and start promoting their website with any PPC (pay per click) program like Google Adwords, MSN Adcenter and with Yahoo.
What companies to join ?
Well, there are thousands of companies to join, but I would recommend you joining Commission Junction and Clickbank, because they have very large database of clients, so you have more options on selecting products that you want to promote. I will be posting a list of all the affiliate program sites that you can join and start promoting products and earning cash instantly. At this stage I would suggest you to join CJ and CB and just go through their system, they take some time to get you approved, so by that time you can get yourself familiar with their client area and find products that you think have potential and have higher commission rates.
