I hate when I see people selling crap ebooks for $197 or the sites that offer $200 per month membership. Well in 2004 I remember am internet marketing course came up and its price was $1200, I mean its too much and they send you crappy DVDs telling you the basics. I am always yelling at such people because I have wasted a lot of money when I was a beginner, and I dont want my readers to do the same and trying to same you some money ! OH, “you are welcome”..

I am not talking about the most saturated keywords like internet marketing, web hosting etc, but for any other keywords if you follow this strategy, you will certainly get on the first page or atleast at the second page of big search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Follow me…

Get a Keyword Rich Domain Name

This is extremely important and from personal experience I can tell you that if your domain name is keyword rich, it will automatically climb in SERPs. My friend Ali is always looking for good domain names and whatever he registers becomes popular, why ? because he a;ways registers a keyword rich domain, let me show you an example of one of his domain. A few years back he was learning Gimp (an open-source graphic designing software, just like Photoshop), he registered a domain name called GimpTalk then after some time I would say about 1 year later he reached Google first page for the keyword “gimp tutorials” (without quotes). But later he registered another domain gimp-tutorials.com and this domain came on the first page within the first month on Google. wow, I mean Google gives so much weightage to the keyword in domain name, so grab a keyword rich domain name even if its .net .org or .info, any extension would work.

Post your website to Social Bookmarking websites

If you have some spare time to kill, do it yourself, or use any tool like Bookmarking Demon or pay someone $10 on Digitlapoint and they will post on 100 or more sites for you, this will save ot headache but you will have to spend a few bucks.

Post to Social Networking Websites

Create a few profiles on Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, Hi5, Tagged and LinkedIn. Well, this is very effective, just create profile with name as yourDomain.com and put the link your profile. You can create on as many sites you like, but I would suggest to create on atleast Facebook and MySpace.

Upload a random video on video sharing website

Just find a video and upload it to 4-5 top video hosting websites, and in title of the video insert your domain name, you can upload to YouTube, Break.com, AOL, MySpace, PureVolume etc. You can also create channels on youtube and groups on some sites, use domain name and keyword in channel / group’s title .

Article and Press Release Submission

This has been the most effective way of marketing and creating buzz for your product or website, and it still works like a charm. Write 1-2 articles and press release and submit to article directories, or hire any freelancer for no more than $10-$15 that will not only write but also submit to directories as well. You must use your keyword in your press release or article title.

Ask for reviews in forums

Go to busy forums like Digitalpoint, Sitepoint, WickedFire, Warrior Forum, WebhostingTalk, v7n, XiTalk etc. Post your domain name in thread / topic title asking for reviews or you don’t like this idea, then ask any quesiton about your own domain so that people can start talking about it.

Create groups on Yahoo and Google

This method was very effective back in 2007 but it is still not saturated, this will give you a quick boost.

 Post Comments on Related Blogs

I know what I am writing may take time, but don’t just spend all of your time on writing comments, you can pick 4-5 high page ranked related blogs and use your keyword in your name and post 2 comments on each blog.

This may take you 1-2 or maximum of 3 days, but the outcome is worth doing this. Just wait for 1-2 weeks or so, depending on how much competitive keyword you are testing, and search for that specific keyword after that and I am sure you will certainly be on first or second page for sure on many search engines. It has been tested and I have been doing this for the last couple of years and its is extremely effective strategy. I have not discussed teh basics like met tags, keyword in page title etc since those are basics. I would love to hear more comments and ideas from you.

Well, let me start by saying the most people do not talk much about it STILL, because they don’t want you to be in the competition. Really.. that’s a fact, there are thousands of visitors you can get for free easily..

Ok, let me tell you one thing, if you use Google Adwords or any other PPC (pay per click) program, you have to pay to get targeted traffic, fine ! and then you will have to check whether or not your Ad is working, and if working you will have to take care of many things, like number of clicks, impression, title, ctr etc etc, and by that time you will loose a lot of money in just testing, I am not saying that it a bad idea to use PPC, but at the same time why should you use PPC ? when you can get a lot more traffic than you will get from PPC and emptying your wallet.

So, is this a REAL method to get FREE TRAFFIC and KILL THE PPC ? Yes ! But its not new, but its an automatic traffic machine system, its called Social or Buzz Marketing. Now, you will be thinking its an old news that utilize social bookmarking websites and get traffic, TRUST ME IT WORKS, and here are a few benefits of submitting your article/news to sites like digg.com, slashdot.org, propeller.com, netscape.com etc.

1. If your article / story is good enough you get a burst of thousands of visitors in a single day.
2. When you get visitors, you can make LIST (subscribers), Yes - a list can make you hundreds of thousands  of dollars in no time (I am saying this based on my personal experience)..
3. You get thousands of FREE BACKLINKS from blogs, forums and news websites and all the traffic is extremely targeted.

Now let me tell you a few quick tips, on how to get your story on the first page of these websites, even though it doesn’t get on the first page you still get a lot of backlinks and regular visitors from those pages, however lets try to get the best and be on the first page of these website, one must consider a few things in order to get his story to be talked about.. now while submitting a story you are given options like;

title of the story
short description of the story

These only options available at sites like digg can make a big difference, the most important thing is your story title, so you REALLY have to be very creative for writing one line story title for your story, if your is great but the title is not attractive you will fail and people will not visit your website, but even if your story sucks and you have a great title, you will get tons of traffic. Now see the example titles below and analyse which is effective and which is not

Title 1 : Make money online
Title 2 : 10 tips to make some serious cash
 
Now, depending on your niche, the current example  of title is of a very saturated niche, and we know that there are probably hundreds of thousands of articles and case studies on this topic, so lets try to divide it into some steps or tips in which every user will be excited ot see how only 10 tips can make someone serious money, now you have to think like if this was posted on Digg or any other website, will you click it ? if the answer isyes, then your title is perfect, if you think you will never click such an article, then try changing. Keep the same advice while writing short description, tell something the users and make them click to read the rest of the story, something unfinished, incomplete or may be the first best tip. Human mind doesn’t like incomplete things, test this yourself, consider you were watching a movie and it was a third class boring movie, and you have been waiting for 1 hour that there will be some twist in the movie and there wasn’t any until 1 hour, now trust me you will not just shot down the PC, you will certainly watch the movie till end LOL.. because you want to see the end even knowing that its a bullshit movie, so that hum psychology to complete the things, and this can be checked in many ways, so give description of this kind, its really very effective.

What about the website / Blog look and Feel ?

Now, I would give an honest advice here, and it worked for me back in 2002-2003 when I was testing many things online, the very important aspect is that do not put ads  on your website until you are getting some decent traffic. Why ? because Ads distract visitor’s attention and visitors click, its good because it makes us money, but when you have less traffic you will loose return visitors, the first focus should be your list of subscribers, the return visitors and the quality content, once you are setup with that you can monetize your blog, website like hell, when people are used to coming back to your website then you find yourself sitting on a goldmine, and it works ver well then, but in the start do not put a lot of ads on your website, less is good to start with.

As far as the article, keep it concise, read it twice (I personally don’t read and there are tons of grammatical and spelling errors sometimes in my posts, so my apologies for saying something that I personally have not adopted yet : lol), if possible split your article into points or bullets, use images in your articles; these are most effective, while talking about images since I have been doing freelance job for more than 8 years now,  I can tell that the human images work most rather than always putting some high quality 3D graphics, a simple girl or a business women image works best. Articles / news of a negative perspective work the best, lol, yeah, I personally have searched a couple of time on Google for Britney Spears exposed, Paris Hilton in Jail, Pamela Anderson Divorced again, lol, you should concentrate on getting backlinks and traffic, and just don’t care about anything else, keep in mind that backilnks = traffic = money
